Blogging Update! Happy November!

Hey y'all!

Whoa! It's definitely been a long time since I've written my last post. There has been so much going on in the month of October with school and my personal life. I haven't had the time to just sit down and blog until this very day. October came and went by so fast. Although I haven't been blogging, I've been researching how to make a major comeback after my time off and I must say I am super excited!

Okay! So October was breast cancer awareness month. I thank God for all the breast cancer survivors that God allowed still to be here that are in my family, that are friends, and of course all of my wonderful readers. I have experienced the toll breast cancer takes on family and it is not fun. It takes faith and prayer to get through something as challenging as breast cancer. To all my readers who are breast cancer survivors, who knows someone with breast cancer, or who has breast cancer themselves, I applaud you. October is breast cancer awareness month but please know that you are not only thought of just in the month of October. You are thought of and prayed for continuously throughout the year if not by anyone else, by me.

At the beginning of October I was preparing for my midterms. I will have a blog post up soon explaining how to not feel so anxious when midterms are coming up. I must admit that my anxiety got the best of me but when I sat myself down and thought of some tips that I knew would help me personally, I ended up acing all of my midterms. Plus I had a ton of other things I was worried about but a lot of inspirational quotes and bible scriptures also helped me to cope and get through the month of October. I will also make a post about those quotes and scriptures. Those posts will be up soon!

The week of my birthday my old high school choir teacher passed away. I must say that it really hit me hard. That was definitely a tough week to get through with everything else going on. I really don't deal with death very well. When I was 10 years old, my best friend passed away from a heart attack. It was so hard for me to accept that because we were only 10 years old. How could a 10 year old have a heart attack? It took me months along with school counselors to help me cope with the loss of my best friend. I still remember some of the things that helped me and those concepts will be shared in an upcoming blog post.

I had a really great birthday! I turned 20 years old! Even though turning 20 was the reason for me making this blog, I wasn't able to post to my blog on my birthday. People usually ask you do you feel any different when you turn a different age. I always answered no. It always felt the same. Nothing ever changed until I turned 20. Now that I'm in a new era I just feel like I'm much older. As strange as it may sound, I feel like I should be further than I am right now in life. But what much can a broke 20 year old college student be right now other than a broke college student? I found out that most people in my generation feel this way. I've asked my elders such my Mom, my Grandma, and others did they feel this way. Most of them agreed to the feeling and said that it would past. I'm waiting for that very day hehe.

I really enjoyed my Halloween this year! Last year I didn't dress up. I actually had class that day and it was the day before Magic City Classic Weekend. If you're from Alabama, you know that Magic City Classic Weekend is the weekend that Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University goes head to head in a football game. It is very exciting and very fun for everyone in the Magic City. Even though I don't participate in the tailgating and the parties, I was ready for the weekend and didn't really feel like finding a costume. But I did trick or treat last year. This year I went as Catwoman but my own cute version. I got my costume from a local thrift store. I know, I know. Who would have known that I would find a cute cat suit at a thrift store? I got my cat mask from the Dollar Tree along with my trick or treating bag that is recyclable and can be used for next year's Halloween. I did some funky eye makeup that will also be a blog post coming up soon.
